Default Stock rockers with aftermarket Cam??

I searched the archives and didn't find anything on my question, so here goes:

I plan to install a 228 comp cam in my 01. I already have Comp 1.85 rockers, can I, should I use these rockers or go back to the stock rockers since it would push the upper limits of valve to piston clearance. All my mods are in my signiture..

Thanks

all recommendations I have seen indicate with pretty much any cam short of an ASA or hotcam go back to stock rockers, or the cam ramp rates get too much to handle.

searching should actually reveal a ton of information about this, are you searching here or in the internal section? try both...

Thank you. I revised my search and found them.
I was concerned about going back to stock since the bolts used to hold the rockers down are so small. I assume you would adjust them with different length pushrods.

There is no adjustment on stock rockers. Pushrods will also not change rocker geometry.

I'm running the stock rockers. 236/236 .651/.651 110+4LSA. Ive pushed the engine to about 6000rpm so far but still taking it easy.

typical patrick g grind I take it. Ahh what valve springs? I hope duals.... Otherwise I would not advice using the 1.85s on top of this cam you have now. You have enough LOBE LIFT(with 1.7ratio) as it is and coil bind would be an issue, you really don't need anymore valve duration or eariler IVO, I would be suprised if it's clearing SAFELY now with stock 1.7s, and 1.85s would make it even worse.

Oh Patrick G did grind this cam for a stroker. I bought it off of the boards here it was exactly the specs i was looking for as an experimental carb cam. I'm not considering the 1.85 rockers. I was just informing the OP that i am using the stock rockers with my cam profile. I wouldnt advise he use the 1.85s with a 228 cam. I'm clearing with around .050 on the intake for now. I'll be flycut when i replace the heads.

I would send your stock rockers to harland sharp for their rebuild. That's what I did. They are more heavy duty and for $260.00, it is well worth the money you spend IMO.If you check on here I saw a post with pictures not too long ago.
