Default compression ratio on LQ4 with stock ls1 heads?

I'm trying to put a motor together on a budget, I thought it was a LQ9 but when I got the heads off its a LQ4, I have a Thunder racing Trak cam package, Can u run the stock heads on the 6.0 and get the compression up? and use the cam I have without flycutting? What head gaskets? And what should the compression be? Thanks, sorry or the ignorance.

I'm in the same situation but different cam the highest your gonna get with stock 853-241s is around 10.5 that's with milling the heads .030-.035 and you will have to flycut.

Just bolting on the heads with a stock gasket will bring the compression up to almost 10:1. If you mill the heads 0.030 and use an 0.040 thick gasket you get 10.8:1. Without milling and the 0.040 gasket you get 10.3:1. Milling the heads 0.030 and running the stock gasket will net you 10.4:1. I would at least get the 0.040 gasket and it should be ok w/o flycutting.

Do a mock install, measure PTV, then make a decision on how much to mill, that is the way to do it. Anything else is speculation.
