Default 04 GTO check engine oil on display

Today at work we got a 04 gto and i got it to do a used car inspection on it. Well i did a oil change and checked the car over it had been apart. well i get down and go to take the car for a test drive to see how it drive's and the check engine oil light came on and i pulled over right then and turned the car off. checked the oil and still looked clean as when i poored it in . Not good . Had the car towed to my work and it's sitting there for me to look at tomarrow. Is it the pump or lifter and is the motor okay cuz if not this car is clean and mint other wise and i have a short block ready to go for it if i can get it for less then are 500 over cost.

Thanx
Rob

Was it "change oil" or "check oil level"?

If it was change oil then you can reset it by following the manual (I think its key on and gas pedal pressed 3 times but not 100% sure)

If it was check oil level you may have a bad oil level sensor (providing the oil pan shows full).

I doubt there is a need to replace the engine.
