cam too big to pass smog in CALIFORNIA????? 239/242, .649"/.609 112lsa
its a texas speed magic stick v4 cam
what would i need if upgrading to this from a bone stock 99 z/28?? (think budget wise)
headers ofcourse but seriously what else?

your asking if that cam is too big to pass smog. Then yes
about the biggest you can safely go without of an out-of-this-world tune is a 224-224-112LSA or about a 228-228-114LSA or there abouts

You are so not going to pass.
Ive seen people with a 224/224 on a 114 have trouble passing here, but alot of them do slip by. If you want to remain legal, go for a split. 220/226 with moderate lift on a 115+ or somthing along those lines should take advantage of the legal exhaust and intake bias. Even running somthing like a CheaTR 214/230 .601/.575 117 LSA would be an option.

Can you get by with some mids and a 224? Maybe join a car club and find out where all the big mod guys around there get their car inspected. Everbody knows it goes on

You mean I can move to California and get me a sissy illegal alien man to marry so we can collect welfare and food stamps and sit around and smoke medical marijuana all day, but if I put a big cam in my LS when I get there I'll get busted? Damn, and to think I already had my bags packed.
