just heat cycle it a couple of times...
after install:
1. start it up/let it idle up to temp....turn off after at temp for a few minutes(it will be really loud for this first time)/let it cool down completely
2. start it up/let it idle up to temp....let it sit for a couple of extra minutes/drive it around the block for 20 minutes(putt-putt-putt Low RPM below 3000)/park it let it cool off completely.
3. start it up/idle up to temp/drive it around/take it thru all rpm ranges(but dont just stomp it yet)/let it cool down completely.
4. Do an OIL CHANGE
5. Drive it to the dyno shop and get your butt tuned(you can stomp it here).
6. Drive it Hard Like you had originally planned.
This is my reccommendation...although some places recommend putting the cam in...starting it up...Idle up to temp...then mashing it on a Dyno Pull...no heat cycling???..... the heat cycling just helps break it in and build it up so its not so brittle...
Remember after the cam install...alway get the engine good and warm before you MASH it....

What I did was drive it without romping on it letting the engine get to normal operating temp. Then I would let it cool for a few hrs. I did this 3 times and my 918's have been going strong. These are the purple batch of 918's as well which may be a bad set?
