Default Cam Installation

I bought [[.581/.581 Dur@.050: 224/224 LSA: 112 114]] Comp cams.

What can I keep stock?

You'll need new Springs and retainers and pushrods. An exhaust (longtubes) will be handy. A double roller timing chain and a new oil pump would be good.

New Springs and Retainers

Can I keep my push rods stock?

I'm afraid of a miss shift.

You won't want stock pushrods with new springs and retainers. I'd get some of the Comp 918 springs and some chrome-moly pushrods.

I plan on running stock pushrods with the same duration and lift, but my heads were milled just a touch so the 7.38" stock rods will still be just about right. I too like the extra safety margin of keeping the stock rods. I've already done a search on this and there are plenty of guys doing this, no problem.
