How can I tell shop used Studs on my heads
I can see the most forward passenger side head bolt and the shop told me they used studs and not bolts to fix my heads. By looking at it it looks like a regular arp bolt, but I am not sure what would a stud look like does anyone have a pic of their head stud on the head? I did have arp head bolts before they forged my bottom end and they told me the used studs to attach the heads and not my arp bolts?? Anyone got a pic of what a stud would look like on the head? Thanks

If yopu can see it then what you are looking for is a allen wrench hole on the top, if it has the hole it is a stud, if not then its a bolt. Also on the stud the top of the stud will protrude through the nut. On a bolt all you have on top is the bolt head.

Yes they are ARP head bolts. They are black and say ARP on the head. I've got 2000 miles on them @ 10-12 psi and they seem to be holding just fine. I want to add TORCO and turn the boost to 15-16lbs I hope they clamp good. I do know my tune is perfected and real safe with low timing. With this tune I should see absolutely no detonation. I think I should be safe.

They did not charge me for the studs after overlooking the invoice. I had just asked and they said they had used them so I wasn't gonna say anything about why didn't you charge me. They car went into the shop already having ARP head bolts I guess they just reused them. They forged my short and installed my single turbo kit and tuned it. Car came out real nice its just does not have head studs.
