Default Cam w/ stock pushrods

Was researching and all i found was that hardened pushrods are necessary incase you over-rev. Even though it is piece of mind, can i just keep the stock pushrods in? I was told that if the pushrods wont give out, then something like a rod will. Id rather have a pushrod bend then break a rod. Not too sure..

Stock push rods are pretty week, and can bend. Depending on your cam I woulod go with chrome moly. For $125, it's worth it.

And BTW, that is crap about the push rod bending before a connecting rod. If anything, a bent push rod would assist with bending a rod, due to the valve staying closed.

Sweet Jesus...if I see one more remark to the effect of stock pushrods being a good idea since they will fail first...I'm gonna smack someone.

Pushrods are NOT a safety net. If you are bending pushrods, you'd better be checking everything cuz you are screwing up.

Buy the correct, hardened pushrods.

....don't half-*** a cam install. 918s or Patriot springs and hardened pushrods are a must IMO

No kidding. I'm so sick of reading that. It doesn't even make sense.

Stock pushrods aren't going to like the spring pressure of dual springs. If you REALLY want to get good pushrods get the thick wall tapered pushrods.
