Default Rebuild bottom end for under 2K???

ok my 98Z28 M6 has 60K miles and is knocking on the bottom end...shavings are on the drain bolt (im thinking a rod bearing is on it's way out) w/labor included, stock components, and new rings, bearings, do you guys think it can be done for under 2K??? im thinking i could probably re-use the crank/rods...maybe pistons??

cast aluminum engines do not like knocking bottom line is they crack easy. Cheapest quickest fix get a stock short block from the bone yard and upgrade
rod bolts with ARP's $125
bluprinted LS6 oil pump $130
new cam pick one $350
valve springs $125
JWIS timing chain $130
Gasket set $200
Labor DIY or it will cost about $1000
Short block $500
Then you could take the upcoming winter and rebuild your knocking engine if its not cracked. good luck BTW I was is your position rod bolt failure destroyed my block
