Default Mods Needed for MS4?

If you want to insall a MS4 into a LS1 do you need any other supporting mods? Of course I understand you need Custom tuning and PRC dual valve spring kit. Is there anyhing else I need? I am thinking of going with stock heads.

What other boltons do you have? You will want to change your push rods too, and you'll need a valve spring compessor tool and rods to hold your lifters in place.

Usually not a bad idea to get a ported oil pump to go with it, but basic bolt ons, esp. headers will be needed to get the most out of the cam.

Get a good oil pump. I used my stock oil pump with my cam swap, and now it's making lower than normal pressure, and somewhat erratic. So it's coming apart again to put the new Melling pump in it.

Do it right the first time.

So all I really need is some PATRIOT extreme springs and a all pump then with an MS4. So with full bolt ons a MS4 cammed car should be putting down about 400rwhp?

Ti locks, retainers and valve seals in addition to springs. Just order the cam kit and it will have your hardened pushrods also. Oil pump (Melling 10296) and LS2 or better timing chain is good insurance while your there too.

Thanks great advice. Is this the best Cam for making power with a LS1 with stock heads?
