It's more about the port job. LS6 heads are nice for factory castings but a bad port job will screw up any head. But yea, that would be a pretty good setup for a DD but I would just go custom.

ls2/ls6 243 heads are excellent choice,
i prefer them unported, since they are low priced.
they flow more than enough for a street car with cam and bolt ons and ls6 intake.

no need to really change rocker arms..but if you are doing a h/c setup you should change your pushrods, the heads should have good springs or you could upgrade them to duals.

I got the stage II ls6 heads from speed inc and they came with patriot gold dual springs..good to .650". Where were you getting these ls6 heads from? If they didn't have duals I would get some because like me chances are you won't have that cam forever. I went with a bigger cam and I didn't have to worry about getting new springs thanks to the gold duals.

i would think the head and cam package would be in the area of 70-80 RWHP!!! heads approx. 40-45 and cam approx. 25-30!! go with a package from them and they will include the pushrods also, maybe the gaskets too.

With those heads (59cc's) and a 224/224 .581/.581 112 I got 410rwhp on the dyno while wearing dr's and I still had a ls1 intake. Speed Inc set me up with everything-pushrods, gaskets, etc.

Not worth it imo, then you have to run around and piece everything together, I would just buy some ready to go heads
