Default Removing Oil Pan: How to ensure front counterweights are not down in pan b4 removal?

Hi, I understand it is best to ensure the front counter weights are not down in the pan otherwise it will be harder to remove. Is there any way of knowing based using the dot on the cam gear and the one below it?

the counter weights are covered by the windage tray. you will run into the a problem with the pick up tube.

you'd want the dot on the crank gear facing down so piston is at the bottom and weight is up. The windage tray doesn't cover the front counterbalance.

You can pry on the motor mount to get a tad more room if it's really close. Never pulled one off in the car, but hope that helps.
