Default Ridiculous claim

Friend has rpm stage 3 5.3 liter heads and a z06 cam....and has claimed a huge amount of wheel horsepower...

headers, ory, lid, ls6 intake, and magnaflow...

what can it do...

one thing is for sure, the car would probably be a dyno queen. the z06 cam tends to be a very peaky cam to begin with from what most say. and on top o that some hogged out heads, probably with some big runners. would make for high end power at the expense of low end.

but still, if he broke 400rwhp i'd be impressed....and skeptical if it was by much.

I done 387 with my ZO6 405 hp crate motor with the 243 LS6 heads and block. I know the 5.3 heads and the 4.8 heads will give it a hair more compression because the compustion chambers are smaller and you said they were ported but I dont see any numbers posted.

5.3 heads are probably the crappiest heads out there for LSx engines. I've seen "stage 3" 5.3 heads make about 440hp on a 408 with a solid roller and big cam. 243's are so much better. I doubt he's making much over 400hp to the tires with that z06 cam, IF that.

^ I think the LS6s are better paired with big cubes than the smaller 5.3s also...I agree that he is barely making over 400, but you never know
