Default 121,000 mile cam swap

Hey guys .. I have a 2001 camaro ss with 121,000 and I was thinking about doing a cam package from teaxs speed . Would this be a wise decision with that many miles on my ls1..

As long as maintenance was religiously done on the car, you should be good to go.

Living in Jersey I would say this is not your DD, so go for it. Just dont cut corners by re-using your high miled original lifters, oil pump, etc..

It is my daily driver .. I took it to a local speed shop and the owner said he would not do it with that many miles on it.. He said it can last 3 months or 3 years u never know...

I did heads/cam with 140K on my car and I beat the crap out of it. Hasn't had a single issue in 10K miles so far. Other than I blew my trans, lol.

Hum.. that gives me some hope.. I'm either going to do the cam swap or just save up for a 408 build from teaxs speed ..

I did my H/C when it hit ~100,000 miles.. That was 2500 miles ago with ~25 bottles of spray and 2 transmission later.

But, if you have to drive it in snow and slush in the winter, the extra power will make it VERY difficult to drive.

Get a winter beater so you dont have to worry about it.

Go and do it...just be sure to change the lifters and oil pump while you are at it.

Did my H/C swap with 115k on it and 6k later, still running strong. Like Waterbug said, don't cut corners though. Go ahead and replace whatever you can while doing the swap.
