Default Rear cover kit

Does anyone know what the part # for the rear main seal kit that comes complete with the new cover and all the neccesary gaskets?

You should be able to find a cover in the "Parts Wanted" section. As for gaskets, most part stores are going to sell two options, the head kit and the conversion kit... the conversion kit will have the gasket you need but alot of other stuff that it sounds like you don't need. Call you local Chevy dealer and ask them for the part # then search around the local parts houses. Have your VIN ready when call the Chevy place, it's getting to where they can't tell you anything without it.

Im not looking for just the gaskets...there is a kit that come preassemble where the rear seal is already installed in the cover where all i have to do is install the new rear cover gasket and the bolt up the cover.

#12615666 should be it. That is the cover number. I think the gaskets come with the cover new from gm. You can call the dealer and confirm.

#12561243 is the front.
