Depends on the cam and the rest of the valve train. Cant really give an opinion without knowing the rest of the details.

Our 8019's or the Patriot extreme's....

Those are the best two springs for your application.

I don't know the history of the Patriot springs as their "extreme" version is relatively new but we are batting about a 100% (I literally don't know of a single failure) since we switched over to the new supplier some 2-3 years ago. IMO they are the best hyd. roller spring on the planet....LOL (I've even used them which great success in milder solid roller set-ups as well).

What are the specs on the 8019 spring? I'm guessing it's a 1.29 diameter spring?

I have the 8019 springs on my 205's and the cam was 236/236 .651"/.651" lift in the last setup. They handled alot of high revving full throttle runs down the track with zero problems. But I only ran that setup for about 2500 miles, I broke something else.

I now have a set of patriot golds on a set of ls6 243's and the TQR V3 int lift is .640ish. But I have not revved it past 6K as it has not been re tuned yet.

I think you can't go wrong either way, so I would say it comes down to price.

And i have your EXACT cam and I'm running patriot golds the .650 ones for now. I'll be sticking in the extremes in here shortly though. No failure yet even though they are maxed out. Cam card said it was .647 so i figured that was close enough to .650 lol. I like the idea of having dual valve springs. I had an 01 z06 with some ET heads and such that put down 465rwhp/422rwtq and i broke a valve spring. Drove it all the way to a friend who replaced the springs for me. Cam was like .618 lift on int. HPE S cam.

You're definitely on the razor's edge with a .647 lift on .650 springs. The rule-of-thumb is that you want a .050 to .060 safety net when you choose springs, so if your lift is around .590 to .600, a .650 rated spring should be a good match.

will 8019's require any machining to the heads?
