Default got a few questions with MS3 and TSP heads

i installed MS3 and stage 2.5 5.3l heads (with necessary upgrades)LT, ORY . my questions when i start the car i get a white smoke from the exhaust and it is quite a potent smell. my other question is the car wont idle worth a damn it has been tuned twice by Texas Speed and it wont idle right ive checked for vacuum leaks. replaced the PCV valve hose, IAC and it wont drop rpms when i push in the clutch only when i come to a complete stop. any suggestions?

you need a dyno tune, a mail order tune from texas speed wont help much

after my dyno, the car ran great. Before I had to drive with two feet to keep the car from stalling at idle. A mail order tune is just enough to get the thing started without hurting anything. As for your smoke issue im not sure. Did you install yourself? We did my install in the garage and never had any kind of smoke issue. How long has it been smoking?

Are you losing coolant? Sounds like it could be a head gasket, have you checked the oil?

what head gaskets did you use? When i installed my combo TSP sent me the GRAPHITE gaskets and was told the 5.3 heads will leak with the MLS gaskets.

Not all 5.3l heads require the graphite gasket, it depends on the heads. Did you check the rocker arm bolts & seal them? Also how's your breathing configured?

From a tune perspective it should be pretty easy to get the tuning lined out. Is it tripping any codes? WHat IAC counts are you seeing? Any ideas on fuel trims & the condition of the o2s?>

The intake rocker bolts need ARP type sealant on the treads, the bolts holes after porting protrude into the runners.

what type of sealant are we talking about here?that is why i have a scanmaster and hp tuners so i can monitor but you can always buy a scanner or borrow one from a buddy,a regular obd2 diagnostic scanner sometimes will allow you to see live data.
