I wouldn't mind getting the 10296 but I doubt I will find it locally. The m295 is a higher pressure pump then the stock one right?

I agree with the 296. That's what I have. I thought the 295 was stock pressure. But I could be wrong.

This is correct. Buy the #10296 pump, install the BLUE pressure relief spring and run it.

The 296 pump will require mods if using the double roller chain!

the only oil problems LSx motors are prone to is when the pump actually fails correct? I have not come across any threads where volume was an issue so the standard volume should be just fine shouldn't it? I do understand the why not go bigger theory but I also believe in the if it aint broke dont fix it theory.

thanks for any input guys and also thanks for the already provided input.

Yeah, you need to grind the cover in a bunch of places, and a little off the front of the pump, but it work. And also changing the front bolts to button heads really helps. I have a bunch of them if anyone needs some.

Quote from Melling tech support

The M295 and 10295 are NOT the same.

The 10295 is their ‘high performance’ model, it is anodized, has a stronger rotor set and is more durable

the M295 is a stock replacement.
