Default Fired up the car after 2 years.....open headers!!

Well after almost 2 years my build is done, minus a little exhaust work and a full tune. I bought a complete 403 shortblock for XHP got the heads on and all the kinks worked out. After checking everything 100 or so times....priming the motor and checking fuel pressure, I turned the key. After about 2 seconds of cranking it fired up without a hitch and idled nicely at about 900rpm. I thought the world was coming to an end because of the lack of exhaust, either way I havent been this happy in a while, she even got her first bath in a long time. I took it just down the road that night to check the rear end and find any leaks. There was a small sqeak coming from the pass. front tire which was fixed. I took it out today and put about 30 miles on it and everything is perfect. Monday Im going to drain the oil and cut open the filter to check for anything that shouldnt be there and then take it for the tune.
No I didnt fire it up with the stock PCM settings. I took the comp. to a guy down the road and had him flash it for a startup. Ill get some pics and video sometime next week. Heres a small list of some of my mods

XHP403 forged about 11-1
decent cam profile
P&P 243's,bigger valves,HS adj. rockers
Vic. jr , 4barell TB
Fuel system, A1000 pump, 65# injectors
Full UMI Susp. Moser 12 4.30 gear
Prostars 15x10 15x4, 325MT Radial ET

Any power guesses??

My guess is gonna be about 460-490 because of the excellent port job, t56 and tall gear.

i think you will make more than your guesstimate . i have run open header a few times and have had no problems . not really sure what all you got but based on the cubes and everything i would be lookig for for at least 500 to the wheel . let us know when you get some numbers .

Ha...no I did that intentionally I didnt know if I would be able to have the booster hose clear the throttle bracket and cable and rather than have to take the thing back off I just left it like that. Im going to take the intake and valley plate back off this winter and run a vacum pump anyways. Ill flip it around when I put it all back together.

I was originally going to have it tuned for E-85. I still might Im going to have to figure out how it looks on the dyno with 93. I might have to up the octane, or still go with e-85

Thanks, I know it sits a little high right now...well its about stock height, but I dont think im going to lower it. Its rides so smooth I dont think I want to give that up. I can adjust the coilovers in the front, I would just need different springs for the back

Yeah it's a 236 244 lift is .592. It may be a little underpowered because I orginally bought the cam for a 383. Which is what I originally planed on doing, but after seeing what the cost of a complete stoker kit cost I decided against it. So again depending on what the dyno says I may be doing a cam swap to something a little bit bigger. I think that it may be ok with the intake setup. Ill find out soon enough.
