Theres no set number...some say 450rwhp is safe for the motor, some say its 650rwhp, some say 700rwhp.

Many are making 500rwhp with out problems, myself im making 443rwhp right now and plan on spraying a 200hp shot, but im going to build a shortblock using stock crank and forged rods and pistons before doing so.

The crank can take a beating just everything else can't. It normally starts to flex at about 750+whp. 500whp (somewhat reliable) seems to be the mark without detonating or bouncing off the rev limiter repeatedly for rods and pistons. Rod bolts are the first to go normally because spinning the motor faster with a big cam on stock rod bolts (7000rpm or faster) can do them in possibly the first time you bounce of the limiter in a bad way. I've done it and been lucky but have seen some catastrophic failures from miss-shifts spinning pretty high.
