Default Ticking noise that only comes when car is hot?

I don't know what is doing it, but after a fast drive when the car is totally hot I get a ticking noise coming from the driver's side. It's never done it other than about 3 times right after a wide open throttle run. Any ideas?

Of the above only the lifter could be intermittent when hot... The others would do it all the time. One not listed is warped valve. They tend to stick more when hot than cold. Take a ½ rubber hose and hold it to the head with the other end to your ear. You will probably be able to single out the piston in question. Not a 100% but may give you a good idea where to look.
