Default Are XE-R/XFI/LSK lobes daily driver streetable, or not?

These newer lobe designs have been out awhile now and when Patrick G first designed his LSK lobed "torque cam", he said that it would have good longevity on the street. Lately I have been hearing otherwise, so I'd like to know which lobe designs are streetable for a daily driver. Streetable to me is 30-40K mile valvespring life. I drive my car 20K a year, so I'd rather not be swapping out valvesprings yearly. I have a TR 224 cam on a 112 right now and I think I could design a cam with a newer lobe design that would give me more low end power and sacrifice nothing up top. If any of these lobes would work in a street car, I'd love to know.

XFI lobes were designed to work with beehive srings, so I would imagine that you get get 30-40K out of a good set of duals with an XFI cam with some 230's duration..

Some people I know have gotten 40k miles out of LSK lobes with quality dual springs. That may be the exception and not the norm. I've had good success with springs running LSK lobes, but some of the LSK lobed cams have not had the best hardening process and they've gone soft.

TSP has put out more LSK lobed cams than anyone with their popular Torquer V3 and MS4 cams. Pretty big number of users out there. For what it's worth, streetability is more of a function of overlap than anything else. Keep the overlap mild and the street manners will be mild (for the most part).

I just wanted to make sure that A) spring life (pressure loss/breakage) would not be an issue and B) that the more aggressive lobes wouldn't beat the seats out of the head. One of the cam designs I had came up with to boost low end power without killing top end was an LSK 220/220 on a 110 LSA retarded 1 degree. That gives an 8.69 DCR with 62 CC heads (which I plan on getting). It seems like that cam would perform better than the TR 224 I have now.

I have DD'd XE-R for 8 years with no issues and XFI for 1.5 still no issues, if done right, they will last long enough, there is always a fluke though, but if I wanted 100K reliance, I would just stay stock. Can't beat the Shelbys, M5s, Z06s, Porches etc being stock though. 0>160, they are mine

a quick search for your question would have lead you to this thread on LSK lobes for daily drivers... Pretty good information.

But WHICH beehives?

Would they work with 1218s or are 1518s an absolute minimum?

If that is a picture of Patrick himself on his avatar; that is the harderst thing on this great website. No other individual, car, part or compant demands that degree of respect and appreciation. He should all be so honored to have him.
