Default Anyone running a Comp XE-R?

I'm looking for a new cam for my 383 and I used Comp's downloadable "Cam Help" program to help get an idea of some good specs. The best one it came up with was the XER281HR (232/234 @.050 .598/.598 112LSA). I like the specs on it but the aggressive ramp rate worries me a bit. I am running beehive springs and comp hardened pushrods with stock rocker arms. I was just wondering if anyone is running this cam or a similar cam and I would like as much input as possible. Also if anyone has any good suggestions towards other cams please feel free to recommend away.

That would be a TSP Torquer V.2 cam.. I had that cam in my car & it pulled nice from about 3.5 on up.. XER lobes are aggressive, but a good dual spring will keep it in check. If you decide on getting that cam, have some advance ground in it.. Mine had none & think it would have been a much better street cam if it had 2-4 degrees in it.

I am running an XER grind 228/232 with close to the same lift. Good beehive spring will handle it fine. I would get PAC or PSI springs.

I have the Comp 287 in my 383 with AFR dual springs. I just feel better about running the dual springs.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm thinking about getting a custom grind from Thunder Racing. I talked to them today and not only were the extremely helpful but they offered me a good deal on a cam/spring/pushrod package, so I may go that route instead. I hear TR's custom grinds never fail to please.
