Valve Stem Ht.?
Putting together a 6.0L Aluminum Head and want to confirm desired valve stem ht?
Heads were milled .030" and will use '03 LS6 hollow valves, 918 springs & retainers, 1.7 Yella Terra Rockers and stock length hardened pushrods. I believe the 03 valves stems are longer than stock LS1 versions.
What is stock valve height (seat to top of stem) and should I aim for that or do I need to adjust for the milling?
Thanks

Re: Valve Stem Ht.?
LS6 valves are .6mm or .024" longer than LS1 valves.
I would love to just cut the LS6 valves to match, but unfortunately, because of the sodium-potassium mixture in the exhaust valves, they are not supposed to be cut. That mixture can spontaneously combust when exposed to air w/ high humidity.
Any suggestions to make this work? Has anyone cut the LS6 valve stems?
