well...I emailed them about the cost of resleeving an LS6 block to do a 4.125" bore (427). I'll see what they come back with.

their site says $1000 for install and $1320 for the sleeves....so thats only $320 more than MTI wants for their resleeved non-Darton aluminum blocks...

Add a brand new LS-6 block from Valvegod and you come in at $2920 with no core charge.

But you know LPE has done this before, and you know they've done it right and got it down.

Has this other company that nobody's heard of?

I'd rather spend a few more hundred on experience than it end up costing me thousands in the long run...

Food for thought.

...someone said LPE has been testing these and they have been blowing up in applications over 500HP...so that is apparently why they have not shipped any yet...

Anyone care to call Ed Potter and ask him how the research is going?

there are a lot of people running over 500rwhp with resleeved blocks (most are just dry sleeves)....

LPE does only Darton wet block re-sleeving. I think it is common knowledge that they have not shipped any wet blocks to date...

...someone reported here recently they talked with ed potter and he said they are testing and have had problems... he indicated LPE has not shipped any wet blocks yet...

Isn't it the other way around? Arent there problems with dry setups i.e. dropped sleeves, cracking, sealing etc?

Yes,

Robert was referring to me as i personally spoke to ED POTTER 1 month ago, right before deciding on my ne C5R block, and he told me that they are not done R&Ding the Darton Block yet and have some serious testing yet to be done b/f they release it and IT HAS NOT been released yet. I believe he inidicated in several months they should be good to go! Unfortunately, i was not willing to wait that long!

Did you say ed potter told you the wet darton blocks were faulty in applications of over 500hp?

No, he didn't tell me that but simply said they were not ready to release the darton block to the public yet as they still need to finish R&D. I do believe he told me that they ran into some sort of set back with the block but i dont recall any specifics, etc.
