Default recommend a cam for me

i'm starting to seriously think about putting a new cam in my car but i will NOT be swapping the heads or adding headers. what would be a good cam that provides nice power, works with stock heads and manifolds, and requires little tuning (unless someone in the NW Iowa region would be willing to help me with that). i don't care if it doesn't sound like a sleeper or not, in fact i would welcome the idle but i still need reliability and driveability. so with that in mind, throw some specs and cams at me.

Check MTI's selection-they have some bad *** cams if your wanting to do a cam only but I would also reccomend a set of LT's to go along with that to make max power and get some good #'s.Something like a C1 cam its a 222/222 .566/.566 112LSA.It makes good power to in cam only cars but a set of headers would really work nice.

Also might wanna look at the TR Old Man cam its smaller but is huge on the intake side.MTI's version of this would be the Stealth Cam which is good too-so really sepends which one looks best to you. There are some #'s posted in this section from the TR Old Man Cam-pretty impressive.

comps 212/218-.558/.563-115, MTI's stealth cam, or the TR OldMan cam... none should require tuning with their 115LSA's...

220/220 114 cam, 222/222 114 cam, or at biggest a 224/224 114 cam... some are gonna post much bigger cams and that they have no issues at all with them, but anything bigger than a 224 is gonna have some issues. Cam surge sucks... hotcam cars even have that and thats a tiny cam.

i'd say a 222/222 if you want a nice 100% streetable cam...

224 if you can put up with a few issues from time to time.

I have the 224/224 .563 114 cam in my A4 and love it, but at times I hate the herky jerky cam surge around town! The car shakes alot at stop lights also, but i like that usually

I run a custom comp cam that was spec'd by 93PONY. It's a 220/220 with a twist. It idles smooth at 750 rpm's, pulls hard and passes smog. 395 RWHP and 378 RWTQ with no tuning. It should be over 400 RWTQ and 390 RWTQ
