Default Engine vibration

I posted this over in the external thread, but i'm wondering if it could be something internal.. How would I know if I had a burnt up piston...or fried the heads or something?

no codes showing.

I got a real bad vibration as the car climbs through the RPM's....It also has this vibration at idle...but when it revs it violent....the shifter actually freaks me out with the amount of vibration going through it...Any ideas whats going on here....could this be the harmonic balancer?

If it was a burnt piston it would have a dead cylinder. It would not rev like quickly like normal, it would drag. I would check motor mounts and trans mount. Has it had an oil change recently? Check the oil level, I know an overfilled engine can vibrate like a ****.

Sounds like it may be clutch or pressure plate that is if your a manual tranny, I have seen other applications crack or bust flywheels on autos but not heard of an LS doing it...You didn't really say which one or if there was a noise associated with this thrashing...I had a dodge that would break rocker arms and it would act really crazy sounded like a helicopter and shook like hell....How bout a little more info on the car and symptoms
