Default Rocker change with 02 LS6 Cam........

I'm considering changing the rockers from stock. How far can I safely go to squeeze a little more out of this "Baby Cam"?

I am currently also waiting for my Pacesetter LT's w/ORY from TSP. Right now I'm running a 2 1/2 Bassani ORY with stock manifolds and hope to get 2 tenths and 2 MPH from the LT's and bigger ORY mainly due to the cam.

Any info or input would be

TIA,
Kurt

I am curious about this alos. I too have this cam, and was thinking about changing to a set of different rockers. Which ones should I go with?

1.8's will net you .600 lift on an 02 LS6 cam. big plus IMO i'd love to do something like this on a moderately stock car.. ;D

Thanks for the reply Vents. How safe are the LS6 springs which I am currently running, with the added lift? Also can you think of anything else that would need to be done to make sure the valvetrain is up to it.

Any guess what kind of gain could be expected?

Thanks

Kurt its Travis, whats up man? with 600 lift I would definitely recommend getting some tougher springs. I'd recommend some double springs especially if you plan on going to a bigger cam after your warranty is up

Man, there is NO way I'd try that much lift on the LS6 springs. The springs would need a definate upgrade.

actually, the stock lift on the '02 LS6 cam is .551/.547, so with 1.8 rockers, it would be: .583/.579, and with 1.85's it would be: .600/.595 ... i would use AT LEAST a comp 918 spring... i would get 1.8 rockers that were full roller, not the 1.85 SLP's which r not full roller...

Thanks for the replys. Looking at Thunder Racing, they show the CC 1.8's for $699. The springs would be every bit of $150. Ouch...that stops the idea in it's tracks. I was hoping to lean on the cam a little, but for that kind of money I would be better off swaping cams.

Thanks again.
