Default How can Yella Terra rockers help

What exactly is this mod for? Can it be used in a large CI motor? What about my current setup in sig? What advantages/disadvantages would I see from this particular mod? Any daily drivin issues?

More stability, full roller smother operation, better valve control, And MUCH quieter.

the debate on if they quiet the valve train down all that much (if nothing is broken on the stock rockers) is still out...

some people say it gets quiet, others say it didn't.....so...who knows....

but....all the other stuff (More stability, full roller, smother operation, better valve control) are all correct...plus they are more reliable (no bearings comming out like some stock units have done)...

Every one I have installed has gotten a lot quieter and everyone I have sold them to has said they were much quieter. So I don`t see any debating.

Somebody explain the better valve control to me. The valve rides up and down in the valve guide so.....

1) less mass = less chance of valve float

2) stiffer rockers don't flex as much as the stock units so you get the TRUE 1.7 ratio lift

Also you do not get the valve being pushed side to side. The roller tip eliminates this action, and pushes directly down as opposed to lateraly riding the valve stem tip.

I just don't see how a valve can move side to side in a guide.

When the stock rocker arm rotates the tip that pushes on the valve wil slide across it as it travels down. The solid tip of the stock rocker arm has friction that pulls/pushes the valve side to side causing the drag. The TRUE roller rocker has a roller tip instead of being solid. The roller tip rotates and does not have this friction acting on the valve tip.

I just don't see how a valve can move side to side in a guide.
It doesn't physically move in the guide. But it does have force pushing it at the tip in a lateral motion which puts force directly on the valve guide producing more friction and wear.

One extra advantage also is that you shouldn't have to clearance them if you have non-stock diamater springs/retainers. Figured I'd post this cause of all the rocker/retainer clearance posts lately.

YT's have less mass? Says who? They are heavier than stock! Also Aluminum body is not stiffer than stock steel construction. As for push/pull on valve stem, the radius of the tip of stock rocker is much larger than the roller tip of YT's. This means the sweeping arc generated by stock rocker is more gentle on valve tip and guide than roller tip action, which Warren Johnson claims does not consistently rotate in action. His testing proved it.

I have YT and they are lighter than the stock one. Also, they are quieter and you don't have to worrry about dumping the needle bearings. Finally, they are more precise than stock.

Yeah, I don't know if they help at all or if they are a complete waste of money, but they are definately lighter than stock.

I believe they are lighter than stock.Only way to tell is to dismantle the YT to just weigh the rocker.

..your forgot the part about being shaft mounted...it helps valve train stability....

i bought them becuase the stock ones tend to gernade and spill their needle bearings all other engine
