Default couple flycutting questions

I currently have afr 205's with tsp's old lunati grind 231/237 cam. Im thinking i want a bit bigger cam in my ride and was wondering can i use my old 241 heads as my guides for flycutting? just want to make sure the valves of both heads come down in the same spot in relation to the piston. i know, probably a dumb question but iv been wondering.. thanks

Cause i wanna put a bigger one in it. the heads are currently milled to 62cc with an .040 gasket and im thinking about the g5x3 or something along those lines.

I think they should work. I'm pretty sure AFR heads have stock valve angles. I know that TFS and ETP heads would not work because of there altered valve angles. In not 100% sure tho.

But that set up should clear anyways. Allngnc5 has AFR205's, G5X3, and .040 gaskets I believe and he has not flycut.

from what iv read your right, that setup should work, but it would be close. Im just not a hundred percent sure im going with that cam though, still considering really big boys such as the trex or ms4 or maybe that polluter cam. When i first put in that 231/237 I thought i was maybe going a bit big from all the stuff i was reading, but the car drives so good i want more.

Use your old #241 heads to flycut, thats what I do. The AFRs have the same valve spacing/centerline and angle as a #241 head. If your AFR head has been milled, and you are using a .040 gasket I'm confident that you will have to flycut atleast .040+ to be safe. (intake side only)
