casting numbers?? help!
i got a 6.0 iron block and i was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the casting numbers are to tell if its lq4 or lq9?? or a way to tell the difference, because i was told they take different head bolt lengths??

Who ever told you that is an idiot! If this is a short block, then look at the pistons. LQ4 have a dish, while LQ9 are flat top. The head bolt differences comes from 1999-2003 blocks versus 2004 and newer blocks (not just 6.0L). The early blocks had the outer two head bolts shorter then the others, while newer blocks had all the same length. There is a part number on the back of the block that is 8 digits, post it up and we can let you know. Do you know what it came out of (year/model)?
