Default Lunati Voodoo 60511? Thoughts?

First of all...I'm new here...nuff said.
I've been trying to recommend some good street cams and stuff for people lately and I've been kinda eyeing the Lunati Voodoo series cams I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts on the Voodoo 60511 as a street/DD cam. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...1&autoview=sku

specs are somewhat comparable to other smaller cams (TR220?) but a little more aggressive it seems like any thoughts? anyone used this cam? they also offer a smaller and larger version #s 60510 and 60512 respectively...thanks guys.

When I played around with Gen I SBC stuff anything Lunati was well designed and built. It's prolly pretty good but you usually only hear their name associated with cranks with the GEN III and later stuff.

Got it and love it new dyno numbers coming on the 18th when i get retuned with my new exhaust and the LS6 intake. Numbers in sig are on a 98 with stock heads, stock crappy LS1 intake and header dumps.

Does this cam require valve springs upgrade? (stock C5 LS1)

It seems like a mild enough cam to go with stock springs, looks the 2nd mildest out of the 5 Voodoo cam offerings.

You might be right, but the yellow LS6 springs are only rated to .570" lift and I am sure the stock LS1 spring are rated much lower than the yellow springs.

However, I am by far no expert.

It is always recommended to upgrade the valve springs when you go to any cam other then stock.

I am running stock LS6 yellow springs and haven't had any issues shifting at 6500 rpm.

I have no idea what my dyno numbers are, but it pulls WAY harder EVERYWHERE than the stock LS1/LQ4 cam.

It sounds awesome too.

This is a good cam, I am running it and putting down 385RWHP and 352RWTQ, using patriot stage 2 heads, Kooks LT's, Ported TB, LS6 intake, with an A4 trans and getting 25mpg highway cruising with 3.73 gears. I wonder what a good set of ported AFR 205's would do with this cam..

I plan on hand porting a set of 806's with some stock exhaust valves and 2.02 intake valves and seeing what numbers I put down, plus I'm hoping for some solid low to mid 11's at the track for next season as well.
