I thought you needed a 4.030 minimum bore to run the L92/LS3 heads. Did you have to do any special adjustments/cutting or limit cam selection to do this?

Honestly most people that have to flycut have the wrong cam to begin with.

No fly cutting here.

I did a set of LS3 Heads on a LS2 GTO 24 tooth crate engine.

Topped it off with a L76 and a Holley 90MM Throttle body.

Hooker 1 3/4" F Body Headers and an electric water pump.

Abaco Digital Mass Air meter.

Small 212/218 Lunati Cam with stock springs.

Small shot of Nitrous with a NOS plate

Let me dig up the dyno sheets. It was on the engine dyno.

Maybe I was wrong, could have sworn I'd read the LS3 heads needed a slightly larger bore than the LS2, but it looks like their minimum is 4.00. Well that's good news for me.

I am running the L92/ L76 setup on my LS2. My block was just honed .005 just to clean up the walls a bit, but the L92 heads only need a 4'' bore. You are probably confusing them with the LS7 heads. Anyways my car made 500rwhp with the 6 speed. But now I am running a th400 and the power dropped to 430 rwhp, but it runs 10.5's in the 1/4. So the change was well worth it in my opinion. So yes the L92 heads will bolt onto an LS2.

I've seen several guys post up results from LS3 heads on LS2 motors. Most flycut the pistons and go for a thinner gasket and bump the compression into the low - mid 11:1. Stick a 228/232 114 cam in along with supporting mods and hit 470 rwhp.

gm recommends 4.06(which is 6.2L) but will work on anything 4.000 and bigger.

Wait for GM to sell the L76 and L92
or
Buy a 92mm Fast Intake Manifold buy the heads somewhere else and find all of the other crap that I'll need???

By the way I'm trying to make my car drive by wire...No Cable

You need to ask for part number 12602477 LS3 intake.

The L76 is discontinued. The only difference between the two is the way the map sensor mounts.

My '08 G8GT L76 uses the LS3 intake, not the L76 intake.

Quick Reply: Has anyone done the L92 + L76 on an LS2???
