Red face Yesterday, LS1, Rod through cylinder...

Since that happened only at 412rwhp i am going to build a 402 LS2. I was going to do this with in the next few years but i want my car on the road this summer!
I would like some input on a build. In my LS1 i have full bolt-ons MS4 and FAST. See sig. I would like to use thoes parts with the new 402 because the LS1 only has 15 miles on the cam and a half mile on the intake.
The build that i was looking to do is TSP or HKE 402 engine with Callies rods, Compstar crank, and wiseco pistons for the bottom end.
For the top end i was looking at LS1 11° ETP GIII 265 40 heads for an awesome flow!
The compression of the engine will be no lower than 11.5:1 and no higher than 12:1. (i am in NY and i can get 93 anywhere)
I am questioning two things my heads and cam.
I looked at the specs of the heads and they flow and seem to proform great! I think i am going to stick with thoes heads, UNLESS someone can show me a better head that is not canned valved. The engine will be hyd lifters.
The MS4 is a great cam for sure, but i am guessing that there is a better cam out there for me. Am i better off getting a custom ground cam from patrick or stick with the MS4?
On top of all this i will be spraying a 150 shot just at the track. It sees the track 5 times a summer and i do about 3-5 passes when i go.
The car is only driven about 100-150 miles a week, and only driven during summer. Not really concerned about MPG.

If i am missing anything else that should be said let me know.
Thanks!

Sorry about your loss dude. Good luck with the build. Sounds like a good plan so far. I'd get rid of the MS4 and get a cam your heads deserve. It's weird that you want either a TSP or an HKE shortblock... Their records are at opposite sides of the spectrum. But I was in a similar spot and I went with HKE. Give chris at CCP a call he's a really nice guy. 503-366-2983. Good luck.

HKE, heads why not trick flow 225's and a 244/248 cam. it will put you at 525hp+ and 490tq+.

why not just get an iron 6 liter block, punch it out to to 400 or so cubes, throw on l92 heads, carb intake w elbow and a a huge tb, then stuff a big cam in there and let it rip on a budget

If you want to stick with an aluminum block and use those heads get an L92 block. The larger bore will unshroud the valves in those heads. You're going to have to do all of the conversion wiring for either block and the price difference is extremely small. It is a no brainer. I'm also wondering why you chose the external engine section....?
