Default lookin for cali legal exhaust

headers to tips. what are some good options. i keep seeing those sniffer trucks in my area. so just changing parts for smog check wont work. let me know

You could get some mac mids with a catted y pipe and your choice of cat back. That's really about your best option for staying legal in cali.
If you have a smog shop around you that will smog without doing a visual inspection for the cats in the stock position, you can run LTs with a catted y.

Mac mids are not smog legal in California, even with their cats, because a) they relocate the cats from the factory position and b) they don't have a CARB EO #. Same deal with LT's.

There are CARB legal exhausts but they are all shorties and technically you have to keep the factory y-pipe and cats to stay "completely 100% smog legal".

Anything past the cats is legal and just has to be an acceptable db level, you can run pretty much any catback.

From what I understand the Vette LS6/2 stock exhaust manifolds are as good or better than most shorties on the market, so if you have to go shorties (and it looks like you do), probably cheaper to go that route.

i have manifolds with cats into 3" true dual exhaust, passes the sniffer and visual . . . i've never seen one of those sniffer trucks
