It looks to me more like the connector type you find on the back of the A/C compressor on the corvette. AL block style held down by a fastener. I'm guessing here. OIl level sensor would likely be the same. It'd be wierd if they changed the operation of something like that.

I'll look into it some more.

The article claims they used an LS2 C6 PCM to do the swap. I don't have a helms for the C6 so I can't with certainty say what the oil level sender is doing.

Anyone have a Helms manual for the C6 Corvette?

Here's some more info.

Scroll down once it opens for the stock tank setup.

Nice pics post, thanks!

after a talk with Steve at MTI ( georgia) he said thay have port/polished the stock pump and did the same for the stock pan on the 454 velocity motor.

He mentioned the biggest prob is the stock tank. since my LS7 454 build is a retrofit, I'll be running a peterson tank in the F-body anyhow. take some measurements then run down to peterson (20 minutes away) and pick up the correct tank/breather assembly. Only question now is 2.0 gal or 2.5 gal.

I've decided to run an ATS pan for now...( stoker for sale BTW if anyone is doing a standard 427 build and not reving it to 8K)

The only problem I see is possible clearance issues with the stroker LS7 4.125 callies crank, btu Tyler said he take it back if it didn't fit. nice guy heh?

still looking for someone who has/can rework the stock pump for a bit more flow.

so f**k the 750-900 stock tank then, i guess i've learned the oil level sender is actually in the ls7's oil pan anyway. that was the whole reason i was gonna go with a stock tank.

yeah I'd say the stock tank is a waste unless you are going for the stock look. ATS also sells a 2 gallon peterson syttem with oil tank, breather, and billet Al brackets for $460. I priced these out seperately an dthis is a good deal. -=MIke

BTW, there is an update on the pan, same basic size and buld but the oil fittings have been relocated to the passenger side.

I just looked that up and the price has jumped to $775 instead of the $460 you posted.
