Default 102/102 installed

Well got the intake and Tb installed last night. Couple of things, make sure that you have the larger O rings for the injectors. The ones that are in the fast 90 won't work. Didn't need to clearance the Wpump but we took off a little material just to be safe. The Map sensor works well, we extended the stock harness to the front so that it is easier to get to. We also installed the fuel rails before putting the intake in. This does make torqueing the intake down a pain but was able to do it. And finally the biggest pain was hooking up the air lid. I had bought a 98mm fast lid because I am going to a speed density tune. So the outside dia. of the lid neck is 4" while the TB is 4.5" so I got two single hump couplers a 4 and a 4.5 and had a muffler shop make me a transition to use between the two. It took some cutting but we got it to work. I am going to have to spend more time with this to get it to look half decent. Going to start logging tonight but already love the way the car runs. Not have that bucking and surging is really a pleasure. Won't even know there is a cam in the car.

This is the same dilemma I'm expecting, but since I have a Ws6 w/ the taller lid, I'm expecting a little bigger PITA.

Slap it on the dyno and see what you picked up.
Must be a blast to drive, nice setup.

a 4" coupler will stretch over the 102mm throttle body, a 4.5" coupler is entirely to loose, ask me how I know.

Sorry I'm not home right now, i pulled these off my photo bucket, It's just a 4" dia x 3" long coupler (basiclly the same one that comes with the TSP 100mm maf, but a higher quality), it needs to be about 1" longer and it would be perfect, but i did get it clamped on there, I need to order one an 1" longer just for peace of mind. Siliconeintakes sells the stuff by the foot, I need to call them and see if I can just get a 4" long peice.

Well I have a 4.5" dayco that was a perfect fit for the TB just needed to cut it down and was tired and made a hash of it. So I was back to the supplier I can get 4.5" silicone tube just need to buy 4 feet of it for $150. Remember I don't have a maf so I need about 8" to go from the tb to the lid but they don't line up worth shat so having an extra joint in the middle helps in the transition.
Oh and one thing that I didn't mention is that we made an extendtion on the small vacum line off the back of the intake so you don't have to try and hook it up when it is place.

I really didn't want to post any pics because the whole thing looks like **** at this time. I was tired and we needed to get the car out of the shop that night so I hacked together the couplers as best as I can. The Dayco is really too thick, it is pushing down on the upper rad hose. When I get it cleaned up and looking good I will post some pics. Was going to start logging tonight but just as we were getting the WB hooked up my friend called he was on his way to the hospital with a spiral fractured leg. Should put training wheels on those mountain bikes.
Anyways I took off in the car with only the WB hooked up and the car is running very lean so will have to work on that tomorrow.

Looks good, tuning the larger maf is not hard like everybody says.
