Default quite true dual set-up anyone?

Im having a really hard time building a quite true dual set-up for my truck and could use some insight.

I also built an exhaust for my friends Whipple 2.9 L99 Camaro, which consists of 1 7/8" headers, no cats, x-pipe, and two Dynomax VT mufflers and the car is EXTREMELY quite at idle and partial throttle and sounds awesome, so I:

Built myself an exhaust which is made up of long tube headers, x-pipe, two Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers followed by two Dynomax VT mufflers, for FOUR mufflers in total (two on each side) and the exhaust is still EXTREMELY loud.

Dynomax Ultraflow 14" case length 4.5x 9.75" case
Dynomax VT, 14" case length 4.5x 9.75" case.

I never had this problem on any of my corvettes, not sure why I cant get the exhaust note to quite down, im thinking the open bed cover might be acting as a speaker for the exhaust, does that make any sense?

Any suggestions WITHOUT suggesting I swap to a y-pipe?

Where do all of these exhausts dump? I found that with the same setup dumping at the axles and running them on out the sides made all the difference in the sound level . Went from noisy and lots of drone to nearly no drone, nice tone and aggressive at wot.

thanks for the replies guys, obviously the Camaros have tail-pipes exiting the back, and they bottleneck to 2.5" at the end, not sure if that bottleneck has anything to do with the noise level.

On my truck, I have the exhaust dumped AFTER the axle and right before the rear bumper, I also had the dump with the slightest angle as possible so the sound doesnt bounce off the ground if that makes any sense, do you think that extending the tips and having the tips not face the ground would make a difference?

Im surprized as to why all the Camaros and Corvettes can be quite with a simple exhaust, small mufflers, and why I am not able to acheive the same with a very complex exhaust system with huge mufflers.

I'd at least point the tips out the sides or out the back; not down, also do you have a spray on bedliner on the truck bed?

What size inlets/outlets on mufflers, do you have room for longer mufflers?

Don't know if you have room for these or not but you need longer mufflers; here's some that are a lot longer(straight through S.S.).
Dynomax Ultra Flo #17235, oval, 24" case L, offset inlet/center outlet.
Magnaflow #12279, oval 5x8, 24" case L, center in/out.

Magnaflow #12641, 6" diameter, 30" case L, center in/out.

Default Quiet duals

You want to avoid pointing the exhaust to the ground as the resonance will make it louder. I would do dual side exits and get baffled suitcase mufflers. Yeah you won't win any light weight contest, but with 800hp on tap I think you have the power to move it.

^these guys would be right. Exhaust tone is just bouncing off the ground and back up to your truck.
