Ls2 intake on LQ9
I have an lq9 with an Ms4 and 241's with the crappiest of crap ls1 intake on it and i need to get rid of it... I got an ls2 intake for $100 and im on a tight budget so an ls6 is out of the question... I was just wondering what gains i will see from the ls2 intake over the ls1

I wouldnt attempt doing the port work yourself if you have never done it before. I would still expect decent gains over the ls1.

There is a great thread that compares all the intakes somewhere on here... LS2 didnt do any better than LS1 as it was previously thought too....
Port it or leave the LS1 on there... IMO

If you're on a budget then you're kinda SOL with the LS2 intake as it won't really make anymore power than even the crappiest of the crap LS1 intake. With $200 or so invested in it it can be on par with a similarly priced LS6 intake, but in stock form it really really sucks.
You can try and portmatch the runners to your current heads and that will pick up a few hp at the wheels. That's not really to hard to do, can be done with simple tools and there isn't much you can mess up on as long as you're careful with the measurments as to not go too far. The real porting is done inside the guts of the manifold which requires you to cut it apart and then plasti-weld it back together which unless you're skilled at this I wouldn't try.
