All LS/LQ etc pumps turn opposite the crank pulley.

Just remember, if the flat side of the belt is against the bottom of the pulley, it will turn in the correct direction. It has no choice but to turn right.

Depends on your point of view lol

If the side of the belt contacting the crank pulley (ribbed) is contacting the accessory pulley, the accessory is rotating in the same direction as the crank. If the opposite side (back/flat side of belt), the accessory is rotating in the opposite direction as the crank. You can use the same rules for selecting smooth or ribbed idler or tensioner pulleys.

As long as this is still going.......
I work on a lot of boats, some of which are reverse rotation. They used to make standard and counter rotation water pumps for BBC. Quite a few years ago, both pumps became the same part number. Guessing all that was needed was the impeller vane redesign. I didn't look too closely at the LS pump, but it might work in either direction.
