lq9 based 370.. stock l92 VS small bore ls3 heads.
Just curious how much better these small bore ls3 heads would be for my combo.
My mid range is suffering from the larger valves in the L92 heads. If I could get some mid range back and achieve the top end of a ported ls3 head, that would be awesome.
If anybody has any input feel free...

Prc aftermarket ls3 castings are 2200.. Good deal if they offer the mid range i want (3500-4500 rpms) and flow as well as ported ls3s.. The 250s is probably what i would go with.
Input anybody?
Sorry boduke.. That did seem as if i was implying they were different.. They are the same less the ls3s having hollow stem valves . I exchange l92/ls3s as one in the same.

Thanks for the input, Im up for suggestions..
231/236 615 111... Tsps ls3 grind.
I never did want to run this cam but at that point in the build it was impossible for me to pass it up for the deal I got.
The next cam I need to be nitrous friendly 2-300 shot.
Iirc this has 11* overlap. Id think somewhere around 2-4* would be much better suited.
I have +12 pistons and stock l92s so keep that in mind with the cam suggestion. The reliefs are huge however.

Normal driving is fine.. Gets up and goes quick at 2000-2500 and Im hauling *** at 3000-3500, you can feel the torque.
If you look at me previous threads find the one where i raced the red 408 trans am.. He has a cathedral setup.. I jumped out about 1-1.5 length both races and he was coming back hard from 30/40-85/90mph.. After I got back up in the rpms in 3rd gear i stopped his pull and started pulling again, he never came around. I want to get that mid range that i would have with a cathedral setup but keep my top end. If can do it with a cam swap, Im all for it.
This setup pulls hard and am very pleased in its performance for how basic it is.. Im just looking to make it a little more put together and working right... Just next mod step is all.
