It's always been my understanding that all coil pack connectors have been the same from the trucks to the LS-series. I'm using LS3 coil packs connected to my LS1 harness fyi..

Yes they will plug right in. But if you have ls1 valve covers the spacing is different so they will not bolt on. I believe there are adapters out there somewhere.

Well my LS1 coil pack wiring harness DOES NOT FIT my ls3 coil packs. My coil packs have a oval shaped plug where the ls1 conector is rectangular shaped. Also the ls1 conector is bigger than the ls3 plug on the coil pack.

Hmmm.. it's been a couple years now since I did the LS3/7 coils.. now that I think about it I think the plugs are different into the actual coils but the main bulk connector in the middle should plug right in to the main engine harness. Sorry for the confusion, I posted too quickly without thinking about it first. I think I purchased the wiring harness' you need off corvetteforum.com for like $30. Good place to try first.

Thanks for the info. Now does the LS3/LS7 use the same harness? Also ive read that u can use a LS2 wiring harness with LS7 coil packs and if the ls3 and ls7 use the same coil pack i could order two straight from gm. And did u have any issues with ur pcm after the swap?

Yes the LS3/7 uses the same harness because they are the same coil. Don't know about the LS2 harness working for the LS3/7 coils. Try looking up some pinout diagrams that will include the shape of the connector. No issues after the swap just have your tuner adjust the spark dwell time tables for the new coils.

Thanks for the info. Would u happen to have the part number for the harness cause i called GM and the parts department guys are retarded and said they dont make a harness. Btw the car in ur sig is bad *** mines the same color and i plan on doing the cowl hood eventually.

The actual 4 pin coil connector is different early/late

But the main 8 pin white connector in the middle of the bracket is common. Retain this for each coil set and you can swap away

I need help guys! I have ls3 style coils and ls1/ls6 wiring harness, will just plugging in the harness work? also do they need to be plugged in a certain firing order? like is there a 1,2,3,4 plug or can I plug them in anywhere? or do I need another harness? I am using a MSD 6012 ignition box and harness, the engine is a 5.3 from a 2008 gmc pick-up. here's a pic of what i have

Yes they will plug in and of course there is a firing order which is dictated largely by wiring.

Cant recall off the top of my head which wire colours refer to which position though. Only 1 colour will vary at the coil connector though.
