And lets face it, that one should have been a piece of **** for them to make and sell.

Clearly they didnt see enough profit in it....or tests simply didnt show any benefit over long runners that seem to work well for everything

Vararam- another month goes by. Could you please give us a heads up if the patent will delay this item from being sold? If so how long.

Lack of communication from a manufacturer really puts customers interested in a very frustrating position. Either they buy something else (MSD).... or wait for your product.... but how long?

Email I received from Vararam today.

"Allen sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We are waiting on the custom CNC tools for machine the plastic components at this time .

Once everything is completed and in boxes we will release video and dyno charts etc..

We do not want to bring the cart before the Horse.

So are those different runners available yet for the masses to purchase? I'm in the market for a FAST 102mm intake and would like to be able to purchase one with the runners I want.

They have part numbers......but from what I see, their web site still draws a blank. So I'm guessing they may still be a month or two away.

It's too bad, too.

FAST is putting up videos while Vararam is putting out excuses via a forum member who doesn't work at Vararam and who apparently has not witnessed any of Vararam's testing .....

Look at those runners that FAST has offered... it's for the 0.001% of the people out there. It loses power below like 6000rpm. So unless you are spinning your motor to 7500rpm, and have a 6000 stall converter, chances are, you're going to be faster with the longer runner setup. Look at the Edelbrock cross ram, and the Vararam... both have longer runners because they know that for the vast majority, they aren't spinning above 6800-7000rpm, so there is no benefit in losing 30-50ft/lbs at 3000rpm, if it only picks up 10ft/lbs above 6000.

What you were looking at was the 'Race' runners.....which are, indeed, intended for that '0.001% of the people who are spinning to 7500 RPMs with a 6000 stall TC'....

The other tested item was the High-HP runners which is what 99.99% of the buying customers will get.

What's NOT shown, is a comparison with their standard runners. I would've liked to have seen THAT!

But it's not a show-stopper when you consider that the High-HP runners pulls HP all the way to 7000 RPMs and then holds that HP up to 7500 RPMs. Intuitively, we know that beats the crap out of the standard runners that typically reaches peak at or below 6300 RPMs and then immediately falls off.

At least we KNOW the product has been manufactured and tested.

That's a high sight better than 'promises' from a 3rd party about a product no one has seen on a running engine ......

For all I know, the Vararam intake MIGHT be ready to hit the market....but until they actually SHOW us.....something.....I remain a lot more skeptical about their product than I do about the FAST runners.....

I agree. The Vararam may be the greatest designed polymer intake ever designed for LS motors; however, it's not worth a damn to me or anyone else if it isn't produced. They're gonna lose a huge chunk of their market if they don't get LS3, LS7, and cathedral versions out soon. I'm personally getting VERY tired of waiting. In a few more months I'm not. I'll go with whatever is the most proven at that time and NEVER look back. After all, what good is a 418 to me sitting in pieces waiting on an intake and cam for that intake? Lots of money to set there in boxes.

Exactly KW Baraka. You hit the nail on the head. There are three different type of runners that are supposed to be offered. Yes, the short *** runners are going to be for all out race purposes, but the mid length runners are exactly what I need for my setup. At least FAST is actually going to produce something unlike the other companies that take years and years and just talk about **** and don't actually do anything.

It'd be interesting to see a runner somewhere in between, those "long" runners do seem extremely long. The crappy BBK SSI I changed to has shorter runners than the long fast, but not as short as their medium version and they dont do that huge U-turn, they just turn to point flat downwards.

Still a good gain at higher rpm's if that's where your motor spent most of its time. It is a nice concept from FAST.

KW what are you talking about? There's video that's BEEN posted on the Vararam on a RUNNING ENGINE. It makes power, and plenty of it.

I'm waiting. It's not going to need porting either. It's one and done.

Instead of an ITB with poor air filtering system, I am waiting to se if this one comes on the market before I am bored...

My hopes and prayers are with the Vararam intake for my LS3 based 427 motor. The fast system mainly moves the torque/HP curve around. My modified LS3 intake with the "bars" actually fits my motor pretty well. Peak HP is about 6500rpm with a shift of 6800rpm. I will most likely just keep what I have if the Vararam intake does not come to market.

An ITB setup will only have poor filtering if you build it with a poor filtering system.

The two designs are just different though.

Same.....but I'm losing interest F.A.S.T.

Pun intended

Perhaps....which is why a dyno with the standard length runners (that they didn't do or maybe, just didn't show) would have had value.....
