ST to LT header on LS376/480
I've read a number hair pulling threads where LT vs ST headers has been bickerred to no end but they were regarding starting from an oem manifold.
My set up is a crate LS376/480 swapped into a Miata. It already had short tube headers with 1.5 inch primaries and 2.5" collector. The only LT headers available for this application have 1.75" primaries with 3" collector. It currently has 2.5" dual exhaust with high flow cats. The current post header exhaust would likely remain as clearance is already very tight.
Would there be significant gains going with .25" larger primaries on long tubes vs the set up I have now? And would the entire exhaust NEED to be 3" to take advantage of the increased flow of the larger LT's?
TIA

No. I have 1 3/4 primaries, 3 inch collectors, and down to 2.5 inch duals. Would 3 inch all the way be a little better...probably. Is it hurting me too much at 381 rwhp...probably not too badly. It will still be bbetter than your 1.5 primary/2.5 colector setup, likely by a wide margin.
