Likewise about the cathedrals, although in my case I dont think it would every physically fit anyway

IMO there's always a lot of talk about how good sheet metal intakes are.....yet rarely any back to back proof where they've been tested.
But they sure look nice.
Exactly... I mean if you've got a 5000 stall converter in your race car, that flashes to close to 6000k, and it shifts at close to 8k, sure, a sheet metal intake is a better choice, but for 99.999% of us, you lose so much below that in power, it would suck to drive on the street, even with boost.

Chances are my MSD intake is going to take a road trip to Tony Mamo this winter for his opinions and maybe some shavings.

After that 20 intake test I was looking to change something....then decided to modify the carb intake setup I currently had.

Then decided **** it, bought a BBK SSI off ebay. It seemed to do well compared to some of the intakes, although not quite as well as FAST etc. But it was half the price of the FAST plus they did very very cheap shipping via ebay's global shipping program.
In fact ridiculously cheap.
Low-mid range was very good and upper end decent. I'm sure boost will just amplify those gains with the intake helping a lot off boost vs the carb/elbow

It isnt the most beautiful piece, but unless I find other issues when I start pulling things apart to swap, it will be pretty much a back to back comparison vs the Vic Jnr/Elbow. Doubt it will ever be near a dyno so will just be SOTP kind of test and how fueling etc needs changed.
Will be modifying it for 2 inj per cyl again to save me buying new injectors. **** knows what sort of mess I'll make of that lol

Most do say injectors placed at a distance from the ports do help power at the top end and it looks quite convenient to mount injectors quite near the ends of the runners so that's what I'm doing.

I call them every two weeks, still in R&D eta seems to be a rolling month.

We are now six months after the announcement and still no release date.

Seems very much like the Vararam shenanigans. I'd love to see FAST have some competition. I like having choices.

At THAT price point, it had better be MUCH better than even a bugs worked out of it/TUNED ITB set up!!

Default Update

I spoke with the Engineering Department at Edelbrock yesterday.

The cross-ram is in final machining.

They expect to release pricing within two weeks once they determine to total machining time.

Shipping soon after that.

I hope they stay with this timeline!

Is this the twin throttle body version or the single throttle body version?

Default ItT is now available for order...

Manifold is shipping July 29th, available at Summit and Jegs via phone call as it does not appear to be in the online catalogs yet.

Price is $1295 I believe.

If anyone gets one shipped before I do please post pictures and your thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

For a street car it would appear there would be a lot of heat soak with all that aluminum. I would be interesting to see what the IAT's are with the Edelbrock intake. Thermal barrier coatings would help.

I cant wait to see these start hitting the market! I want one so bad- admittedly for aesthetic reasons only.. But I have a LS1 with cathedral heads. I will have to build an engine for this manifold I suppose. But who knows how long it will be before I am able to do that. If there were a cathedral option, I'd be calling in my order right now! Oh well. I'm still gonna stay tuned for real world results.

The only thing that makes me shy away from this intake is that I would be spending an additional $750 on a throttle body and throttle body controller.....but I just might do it anyway...

Well I am starting wit nothing, I found 2 90mm throttle body's on Craigslist for 65 each from 2 dif people, if you have a drive by Wirenharnes an ecu you can use the cheaper Module form Ozmo to run the twin throttle body's . If you have nothing as I do an want all new wiring holleys dominated will run 2tb and Ozmo makes a stand alone set up as well.
I think 1other ecu will run it but not sure what it is. Maybe infinity don't "". Me
I am sure if you wait a month or 2 someone will have something else to run it.
I am leaning towards holleys set up as I will need to learn the Efi stuff for my real job.
I'll know in the next few days what I am using. I am doing twin turbos with my set up

yea, I switched from a direct port kit to twins as well....the only thing that will suck is I will need to buy new injectors, I doubt LS1 injectors will fit in that lol.
