Default Fast truck intake question...

I have a 09 5.3 Silverado. Does the Fast truck intake produce more low end torque than the stock intake?

No.

Hot Rod did an intake test. The 08+ Truck intake made the most torque at 4000 RPM of all intakes they tested, beating out the FAST 102/FAST 102 truck intake, MSD Atomic, and everything offered by Holley, Edelbrock, etc.

If you're after low end torque, you have the cream of the crop.

One of the best plastic intakes out there! Across the board they flat out get it done from mild to wild. But they are huge!!!

I didn't see the HotRod test.....but I would bet that FAST concentrated on high-RPM power at the expense of low RPM power.

In other words, the FAST intake would almost certainly give you more HP up top and less torque down below.

Sure, but for $1200+ for intake/TB, you'd expect more gains.
In the test, The FAST LSXRT made a massive 3 HP/2 TQ more average throughout the rev range.

The test was also done on a 550+ HP big-cam 6.0. Those top end gains seen from an intake swap on engine that needs the extra CFM flow won't apply nearly as much to a 5.3.

The stock intake is more than capable. He asked about torque, he's got the best he's going to get.

Big cam depresses low end torque.....typically.

Not ideal for an almost 6000 LB truck......
