Default Problem(s) with L76 and Fast90mm TB, and possibly other TBs

Throttle cable mounting seems to be a common issue with the L76. One i have not solved yet.

I have a FAST90 TB to put on it, but I am noticing that the throttle cam, as it rotates the throttle valve open, becomes a decreasing radius. As such, if i were to mount the throttle cable directly behind and at the level of the top of the throttle cam, the cable will lose contact with the cam track in lays in, as the throttle opens. The more the throttle opens, the less contact the cable has with the cam.

The only way, I can see in this not happening is if the, throttle cable is mounted behind and at the same level as the cam pivot point. But the mounting plate of the FAST is not thick, there is not much distance from the back of the the throttle cam to the intake runners of the manifold.

Anyone else noticed this problem in with the FAST90 TB? Does this also happen with the other aftermarket TB's too? Do any of the 90mm manifolds come with built in cable bracket for mounting?

Please look at your 90mm, if you have one, and see if the cable maintains its contact and stays inside the track as it opens?

There was some discussion that the LS7 TBs tilt forward on opening? Is this a real issue?

I am using a NW 90 but need a bracket as do you I see. I wish I could provide some help but it does look like if I can get it mounted it will stay in the tract. What are you using for the tube for the 90 tb to the MAF? My stock one is too small. Thanks for the help and I will let you know what I come up with on the bracket. Seems we are both in the same boat. That might make things easier since there are now 2 doing the research. Thanks again.

I am not quite sure which tube you are referring to. My stock LS1 MAF only has one electrical connector to it, no tubes.

I am planning on plugging that single metal tube that runs in the top corner of my FAST90mm TB. Since that was the way it was originally on the stock TB on the old engine.

There is a lister who is selling a bracket he made for this, but I am waiting to see pictures to see if it will work with my cable setup and FAST90 TB.

Ah, yeah, I think of a small thing when I think of tube.

I think if I heat my rubber elbow, I can get mine to stretch and fit. There are silicone connectors/reducers you can find on the internet if you need it.

Does your bracket fit?

The one he sold me does NOT The 2 mounting holes are drilled 1/4" too far apart, and the cable notch where the cable mounts is offset from the line of the throttle cam.

Default brackets

Slp has the bracket Im pretty sure, there is a thread on here about the new slp l92 package they offer and they are selling the bracket needed seperately. Hope this help as I will need all of the same parts for my build in progress.

I have a Holley 90 and it came with a bracket that seems like it will work fine. I have not got a chance to put the intake on yet but will this week. Will let you know how it works.
