I currently have Corsa exhaust on my 402 GTO. The Corsa exhaust has a second small muffler about where the rear passengers sit. While still louder than the factory exhaust, I can't say there is a drone. The exhaust system is 2.5" ID stainless.
If I do it again it will be with spintech 3" stainless.
I had Borla exhaust on it, and it sounded great, but it was very loud. Too loud.

this might help you.
stock 2.5" piping
flowmaster mufflers choking the car, then w/ magnaflows.
2.5" on our catbacks isn't even a restriction until 500whp, so w/ anything 3" you have TONS to spare.

Magnaflow 4x9 mufflers or Borla XR-1 oval series mufflers. Both mufflers are some of the best flowing on the market and will help to mellow out the tone but still keep that deep bass to it. Drop the hammer, and they're almost as loud as a bullet with a much better tone that is more refined.
