I think that's very very cool. Now an LS swap will be easier and more abundant I think.

Good for guy's that have to stick with a dist for race classes. It would be a expensive pita for everything else. I've never seen anything easy or cheap associated with World Products though.

Why? I too think of it as the best small block chevy that GM has ever made.

CHeaper to buy, build the gen 1 engine, parts for the ls is still too high for most people. 4 sizes to chose from(283,327,350,400) that can be stroked up to a 454 small block. The most expensive thing to do to one is upgrade to 18* heads. I like the LS engines alot. But a solid tappet with a 6-71 on a small block sound bad ***.

Sad, but true. There's a reason why most big-inch big block builders use Dart or Bowtie blocks - World's blocks have had a lot of problems with porosity among other things.
A couple of years back, I watched a builder working on a 540 with a Merlin block. They chased an oil leakage issue and finally figured out that it was coming straight thru the side of the block along the oil galley. When they called World, they were told to smack it with a ball-pein hammer until it stopped leaking. The owner told World that he'd just drive the block to their headquarters and pound it up somebody's ***.

But it's not like GM hasn't had problems with the LSX castings of their own
