Default Need help....jp performance double roller install

I have installed jp performance double roller timing chain. I went to put on front cover and it hit oil pump. Has anybody had this problem and how much do i need to grind out of cover?

Gen III or Gen IV?

Neither were made with any clearance for a double row timing set.

The cover needs to be clearanced until it bolts on without being forced. The amount required may vary due to production tolerance variations.

If you switch out the oil pump cover bolts for button heads, that will give a little more clearance. Use some modelling clay to check the clearances.

If you have a Gen IV, you will need to check the cam sensor boss inside the timing cover as well. It usually needs a cut.
